Urbana City Schools is proud to announce that Mike Puhalla, Director of Transportation, has been selected as the recipient of the Ohio Association for Pupil Transportation (OAPT) Continuing Education Award. This prestigious honor recognizes Mike’s exceptional dedication to professional growth, leadership, and his ongoing contributions to the pupil transportation industry.

The OAPT Continuing Education Award is presented to individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to lifelong learning through continued education, training, and skill development. Recipients of this award exemplify how ongoing professional development can enhance safety, improve operations, and positively impact student transportation.

Mike was presented with the award on Monday, June 15, during the awards luncheon at the annual OAPT Conference in Columbus, Ohio. The UCS retiring Superintendent, Charles Thiel, and the future Superintendent, Carla Shaw, were present to celebrate Mike's award.
